NEBO, Queensland

With Tashi and I hoping to get the ‘go ahead’ to return to Queensland to finish the trip together, and with our tickets already booked for a Rockhampton arrival on the 26th August, Michael needed to keep moving south.

The weather wasn’t being kind with more rain forecast for the region. Navigating around the heaviest falls was a tricky prospect but Michael settled on a little town called Nebo. Situated 100km south of Mackay and 300km north of Rockhmpton, with a population of only 800 and its economy relying largely on coal mining, it was hardly the action centre of Queensland. BUT…it was expected to be dryer than Rockhampton with only 9mm forecast as opposed to the 15mm in ‘Rocky’. They stayed there for two days, using the time to catch up on school work and domestic chores.

No official photos…too wet and boring!

This pic (taken from the net) undoubtedly shows the most exciting place in town!
